Dear YCS Families,
The Board of Education made Mr. Jesse Hamilton's appointment to Superintendent of York CSD official at the Monday, March 30, 2026, meeting.
Welcome to the Golden Knights Family, Mr. Hamilton!
At the Monday, March 30 meeting, the Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Jesse Hamilton as Superintendent of York Central School District, effective July 1, 2026.
President Dan Ayers welcomed Mr. Hamilton to the Golden Knights Family and offered these remarks.
"This has been a thoughtful and thorough process, and throughout each step, it became clear—not only to the Board, but to the many staff, students, and community members who had the opportunity to engage with you—that you bring a rare combination of experience, leadership, and an authentic commitment to the people you serve.
What stood out most was not just your professional background, but your approach—your willingness to listen, to connect, and to lead in a way that reflects the values of this community, your community.
The overwhelmingly positive feedback we received speaks volumes, and reinforces the confidence we have in the decision we’ve made. It also gives us great optimism for what lies ahead,” Mr. Ayers commented.
Mr. Hamilton attended the meeting with his wife and expressed his appreciation for their support.
“I'm honored to join the Golden Knights family. It is clearly evident that York Central School is the pride of the community. The caring and dedicated staff ensure that YCS is a place where students can thrive. I look forward to collaborating with the students, staff, Board of Education, and community in continuing the long-standing tradition of academic and extracurricular success while exploring new learning opportunities," he said.
Mr. Ayers also expressed the Board of Education’s gratitude to Superintendent David Furletti for his years of leadership and service to this district.
“His work has helped shape where we are today, and transitions like this are only possible because of the strong foundation he has built. We thank him for his dedication and his lasting contributions to our schools and our community," President Ayers commented.
