To culminate our fantastic SEL(social, emotional learning) morning (more to come on that-stay tuned to FB!) on February 7, 2024, Mrs. Peet issued the middle/high school students and staff a challenge! Battle of the Beads required them to engage in face-to-face interactions! Yes, no texts, no emails, no snaps - just face-to-face communication involving a rock-paper-scissors competition. Today, the top bracket winners faced off! In the semi-final round, we saw the teams of Kylee and Sophia (Fei), and Gianna and Jake battle it out. Sophia and Jake were winners in that round and advanced to the finals. Let's give a round of applause for our final round winners Freshman Sophia (Fei) Burdick and in the staff category the winner is Mr. Dominic Chirico.

Hooray for Groundhog Day! Punxsutawney Phil emerged from his habitat this morning and did not see his shadow, which is good news for those who are ready for spring.
Many elementary school classrooms learned about Groundhog Day, which is observed annually on February 2. It originates with an old Pennsylvania Dutch tradition that says if the groundhog emerges from his habitat and sees his shadow, that means there will be six mor weeks of winter weather. If he doesn't see his shadow, that means that there will be an early spring!
The students had great fun with Phil the groundhog today. Many students said they were happy with Phil's prediction of an early spring.
