Groundhog Day is this Sunday, February 2!
Punxsutawney Phil is the most well-known groundhog of all time. Will Phil emerge from hibernation to see his shadow, signaling six more weeks of winter?
Or will Phil emerge from hibernation and NOT see his shadow, signaling spring is near!
Take our Groundhog Day poll - from those who have already participated in the poll, the majority say that Phil will not see his shadow on Groundhog Day and spring is near!
The Groundhog Day poll is part of the January 2025 Knightly Newsletter... scroll down and take the poll! Fingers crossed that Phil does not see his shadow!

Winter Perspectives in Student Artwork
What better week than this one for students to express their winter perspectives in art class? With a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and a shivery chill in the air, Mrs. Brandy Lundfelt’s fifth-grade art classes were inspired to draw winter landscapes.
Their drawings had to include an ice rink, houses, a pond, and another building such as a school or church. The students created beautiful winter perspectives!

Even our youngest pre-k students can understand kindness, fairness, and love.
Mrs. Cunningham's students celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

The High School monthly lunch-n-learn opportunity for January focused on careers in the trades.
Mr. Bill Baschek, Training Coordinator for UA Local 13-Plumbers, Pipefitters, and HVAC technicians, talked with students about the different careers available, the path to entering the local union, and the training available.
Mr. MacKenzie and the students appreciate Mr. Baschek taking the time to visit YCS.
