Winter day on the playground... Oh the giggles from these little students!

This week in STEAM classes, elementary school students learned about input and output devices. Mrs. Feltham demonstrated a sample of devices to third graders while fourth and fifth graders worked with Cubelet robot blocks.
One Cubelet was a power source, one was an input cube and one was an output cube. The students had to experiment, maneuvering the different cubes into various configurations.
After making observations, the students identified which cubes were inputting data and what the output was. Students were able to get the robots to light up, rotate, create bar graphs and move on wheels using proximity and light sensors.
The students had a lot of fun while learning important STEAM concepts about input and output.

After the MAG visit, the students and teachers had lunch at the King and I restaurant in Rochester where they experienced Thai food.
Mrs. Ivers, their teacher, said the students really enjoyed the Memorial Art Gallery and for many students, it was the first time they had sampled Thai food. They loved it!
