Mrs. Dougal's sixth grade students enjoyed a backstage look into Frozen, the musical production based on the Disney movie of the same name. Holly Valentine, Director of Education for the Rochester Broadway Theater League, spoke to the class about what happens backstage of the production to make the characters come alive for the audience. The students learned that Elsa's beautiful gown is covered with over 40,000 Swarovski crystals and stones! Mrs. Valentine also shared that it takes two people to play the role of Sven in Frozen. It is a highly physically taxing job to play the role, requiring the person to be on their hands and feet in a plank position for extended periods of time. Next week Mrs. Dougal is taking her class to see Frozen at RBTL's West Herr Auditorium Theater. What a treat!
