2026 Best Communities for Music for the Third Consecutive Year!
YCS received the 2026 Best Communities for Music Education recognition for the third consecutive year. If you have attended a concert or musical performance here, you know this honor is well deserved by the York Music Department. 

Elementary School Music is a Hit with Audiences!
It's a Hit! The 2026 Elementary School Musical was just that - a BIG hit with audiences. 

The 2026 York Elementary School production was a musical of innings and winnings with an emphasis on WINNING! 
Congratulations to Elementary Music Teacher Miss Dessert, her assistants, the cast, and everyone who had a role in this successful, fun show. 
The future of York Central School Music Department performances looks very bright! 💜💛🎶

 Livington County Teen Recognition Award
Six Knights were honored at the 31st Annual Recognition Program held at Willow Creek in Lakeville. County officials, Senator Pam Helming, and families attended to honor the teens.
Congratulations to Kasey Coffey, Tessa Rodwell, Madalena Balisciano, Maggie Reissig, Brody Gullo, and Joselyn Hulme. 
The Teen Recognition Award is presented to nominated students who are committed to community improvement, demonstrate leadership, or are a role model to others because they have overcome personal challenges. 
Thank you for exemplifying the Golden Knights Way.
Golden Knight leaders!
Ten Knights were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on April 16, 2026. They are students at the Mount Morris Career & Technical Center.
These students earned recognition through strong academics, technical skill, and a commitment to leadership, service, and responsibility. The students maintained a 3.0 GPA while being active and involved in their programs and in the community.

First Spring Concert of the 2026 Season
first of our Spring music concerts, featuring the Sixth Grade Concert Band, 7/8 Grade Concert Band, High School Concert Band, High School Jazz Band, and the High School Chamber Winds.
Congratulations to our outstanding Golden Knight musicians and their teachers, Mr. Vogel and Mrs. Daeffler for a fabulous evening of musical entertainment.
