Red Ribbon Week and Halloween Parade

Good afternoon YES families,
Happy crisp fall weekend! This is a quick note to let you know this upcoming Friday, October 23, will be the beginning of Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is held every year from October 23-31 and is meant to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. You can read more about it here. This year's theme is Make a Difference. Be a Hero. Stay Drug Free. We will have some dress up days, daily announcements, and other activities centered around being a hero and looking out for one another. Dress up days are shown in the images below and the attached file. These days are completely optional and there are no contests or prizes tied to them.

Additionally, Friday, October 30 will be our annual Halloween Parade. Please read this letter regarding the parade carefully. Individual classes and teachers may be sending information about what will be happening in their rooms after the parade.

All of this information will also be sent home in student folders this week. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Heather Kent
