It's not too late to register your child for York Central School Universal Pre-k program!
Children who will turn four years old on or before December 1, 2024, are eligible to attend UPK.
Parents/guardians wishing to register their child for UPK should contact the York School Registrar, Mrs. Coleman, at 585-243-1730, ex. 2216 or email kcoleman@yorkcsd.org.
UPK gives children an educational foundation in a relaxed, creative and fun setting.


Students in Mr. MacKenzie's AP Participation in Government Class participated in Junior Achievement's Stock Market Challenge today at the Paychex JA Discovery Center located in the Kodak Center in Rochester.
York's stock market team of Jacob Smith, Grace Christiano, and Nathan Apps, placed third overall out of 33 teams competing in the challenge. A total of 120 area high school students representing eight school districts participated in today's stock market simulation
Also competing for YCS were Joe Bauer, Christian Ralston, Evan Carroll, Kyan Tiede, Tyler Brady, Aidan Boyd, and Jake Pangrazio.
The challenge was part of Junior Achievement's Take Stock in Your Future program, which introduces students to the stock market.
The students enjoyed the stock market simulation experience today.

Since September we have recognized elementary school students for respect, responsibility, citizenship, awareness, trustworthiness, caring, and persistence.

You are cordially invited to a FREE concert at York Central School's Ivan F. Hilfiker Auditorium on Tuesday, April 16.
The Genesee Valley Wind Ensemble, and featuring the York High School Concert Band, under the direction of Mr. Devin Vogel, will perform a concert that begins at 7:30 p.m.


Local business leaders were guest speakers in Mr. Conway's Junior English class.
York Central School alumnus Randy FitzSimmons from Power and Construction Group Inc., Cori Schneider from Milton CAT, and Clair Schroeder from Livingston Associates talked with students about a variety of skills including how participating in school sports and clubs helps develop good work habits.

We are pleased to announce that six York Middle School students' poems are winners in the Genesee Valley Peace Poster contest sponsored by SUNY Geneseo English Department. They are students in Miss Kahnis and Mrs. Dougal's classes.
Congratulations to Brady Conway, Andrew DeRuter, Jaelyn Kane, Dominic Leone, Luke Myers , and Lucy Steffenhagen.
These students and their parents are invited to a reception on Saturday, April 20, at SUNY Geneseo where they will read their poems. Their poems will also be published in a book by the English department at SUNY Geneseo.
