Our York School Resource Deputy is on campus to maintain the safety and welfare of every student and staff member. The school community provides excellent opportunities for law enforcement officers to interact with young people and build relationships.
The daily interactions with students serves to reduce stereotypical views of police officers and provides a more proactive and positive approach
to juvenile crime reduction within the community. The SRD here at York CSD provides positive community modeling for youth, particularly in areas of citizenship, decision-making skills, and assuming responsibility for the consequences of one's own actions.
