All Sports YCS Hall of FAme 2024

On December 13, 2024, five York Central School alumni were inducted into the All Sports Hall of Fame. Additionally, the York-Leicester Recreation Department was recognized for continually providing a range of exceptional programs for youth. 

Inductees to the York Central School All Sports Hall of Fame are selected from the nominations submitted to the Hall of Fame Committee. Future nominations are encouraged and can be made by visiting the YCS website to download a nomination form (www.yorkcsd.org and click on the Athletics tab). 

Congratulations to the 2024 Inductees:

Tracy Peglowski

Tracy played an integral part in developing not only basketball skills in his players, but also instilled the ideals of work ethic, teamwork, dedication and sportsmanship. He served as director and coach of the York-Leicester Youth Basketball program for 23 years. He coaches the 7th and 8th grade Fall Ball League. Through his work with these young players, Tracy has played a large role in the continued success of the YCS Basketball program, which has captured two Section V Championship titles in recent years. 

Tracy received the NYS Association of Athletic Directors Community Service Award.

He wants to recognize his family; wife Pam, daughter and son-in-law Tricia and Brian Pangrazio, son Trevor and his grandsons Brodie and Jake Pangrazio. Sarah Deuel Rust

Sarah was a member of thee Section V Volleyball Championship teams in 1994, 1995, and 1996. She was selected to the Section V All-Tournament Team in all three of those years. She was also named as an LCAA First Team All-Star in 1995 and 1996.

Sarah was a member of the 1997 Section V Softball Championship team after finishing as runner-ups in 1996. She was selected to the Section V All Tournament Team in both 1996 and 1997, and finished with a career-high batting average of 380.

While attending York School, she was named to the Who’s Who Among American High School Students. She was a member of both Jr. and Sr. National Honor Societies. She was also a member of the Student Board and received the prestigious Anthony Lariton Award in her Junior Year. 

Sarah and her husband Nick have two children, Lena, Lincoln.


Tabetha Torrens Mozingo

Tabetha was the recipient of the YCS Three-Sport Athletic Award. As a softball player, she won the most improved award and was named an LCAA All-Star in 2006. She had a career-high 32 stolen bases during her junior and senior years. 

Tabetha was amember of three Section V Champsionship Cheer Squads and was a varsity cheerleader for five years.

She was an LCAA All-Star every year from 2003-2006, and was named to the All-Star team. She is the recipient of the prestigious Nancy Saxton Leadership Award and the Gold Letter MVP Award. 

Tabetha and her husband Jeremy currently live in North Carolina where she works as a Police Administrator for the North Carolina State University. 


Andy Englert

Andy was a standout athlete in both football and wrestling. He rushed for over 1,000 yards as a fullback and led the defense as a hard-nosed linebacker. He was a key member of the 1990 football team that went 10-0, securing the LCAA/Greater Rochester Division Championship and a Section V Class D title. Andy was named to the All Greater Rochester 2nd Team and selected to play in the Eddie Meath All Star game. He was a team captain and won the Gold Letter MVP Award. 

As a wrestler, Andy qualified four times to wrestle in the NYS Qualifer meet. He finished 4th in the qualifiers in his senior year. He was a S ection V Class D Champion at the 177 lb classification in 1991. HE was a three-time place finisher in the LCAA Championships. Andy compiled a 33-4 record in 1991 and an overall career record of 88-23. He was a team captain, LCAA All-Star and LCAA Tournament Champion n 1990-91.

Andy and his wife, Michelle have three children; MacKenzie, Alaina and Trent. He is a football and wrestling coach and the Athletic Director at Avon Central Schoo.


David Turybury

David was a four-sport athlete competing in football, basketball, baseball, and wrestling. 

As a member of the football team, David was a two-time All -County First Team player. He was the first player from York Central School to be selected to play in the Eddie Meath All -Star Football game. 

On the basketball team, David carried a scoring average of 16.3 points per game.

As a junior he decided to give wresting a try. He finished as a runner-up in the Livingston County Championship and then won the Section V Championship title in the 132 lb classification. 

David started on the varsity baseball team for three years as a catcher. He was a two-time All County player and was named as the LCAA Most Valuable Player. He also won two Gold Letters as the team MVP.

While attending Cortland College, he served as the chairman for the Scholarhship Foundation, which creates and awards scholarships to students.

David and his wife Sheila have two daughters, Emmy and Maddie. 


York-Leicester Recreation Department

The York-Leicester Recreation Department organizes and operates a variety of programs directed at providing a wide range of opportunities, from athletics to arts and crafts for students in the Towns of York and Leicester. Thousand of children have benefitted from these programs and have taken advantage of the opportunities which would not have been possible without The Recreation Department.
